Cd Launch 'Armonitango' <br>(SONY/Limón Records, 2007)
An exclusive afternoon with two concerts focusing on the harmonica. And who better to lead them than Antonio Serrano, one of the most internationally-renowned Spanish jazz musicians, and the great master of the instrument, Toots Thielemans. Antonio Serrano is presenting his latest album ‘Armonitango’, devised as a homage to Astor Piazzola from a jazz, Latin and flamenco perspective. Serrano has made a perceptive selection from the classic repertoire of the Argentinean master, has disguised his harmonica as a bandoneon, and has brought on board all the musicians with whom he has worked. The result is the spirit of Piazzola that references bulerías, tanguillos, fandangos and rumbas. And he is performing them with three great musicians: Horacio Fumero on double bass, José Reinoso on the piano and David Xirgu on drums.
