The Jazzterrasman prize this year was awarded to one of the Jazz Cava's own, a genuine product of Terrassa's long jazz tradition, the trumpet player Josep Maria Farràs. Farràs' musical abilities were formed out of the embers of the “Club de Jazz d'Amics d'Amics de les Arts i Joventuts Musicals de Terrassa, Farràs had the opportunity to develop his carreer in the pressence of great stars from the genre that while passing through took advantage of the possibility to collaborate with local musicians. Josep Maria Farràs is the paradigm of what Terrassa has achieved: a large following, a large jazz loving audience, from whence every now and then, a significant musician comes.

This evening's concert reunites, in good time, the trajectory of Farràs, who is still currently, a big important part of jazz history in our own house.
