DEDIEGO BROTHERS

This trumpeter and saxophonist brothers from Bilbao, both with acclaimed track records, are starring in the official opening ceremony of the 29th Festival with their combination of hard bop, funky and boogaloo. They will be supported by their regular band made up of the melodious Elisabet Raspall on piano, the versatile Pere Loewe on bass and the imaginative Caspat St. Charles on drums, giving the music just the right groove for the perfect sound. Five years on from their first album, ‘Live Bilbaína Jazz Club’ (Artimaña Records), they are premiering ‘Odola-Sangre’ (Errabal, 2010), featuring original tracks that reflect the influence of Lee Morgan and Herbie Hancock and a sound reminiscent of the Blue Note of the 1960s. Contagious swing injected with a big dose of freshness and power.
