The Festival will take place from 3rd to 28th March in Terrassa (Barcelona)

Next March, The Festival Internacional de Jazz Terrassa will arrive to its 23rd edition. This Festival is one of the most important jazz festivals in Spain, an obligatory appointment for all jazz lovers, professional and non professional. Step by step, the festival has become into a reference, a meeting point for the best musicians, who seize the opportunity to show their new proposals. This year, the festival will take place from 3rd to 28th March.

The Festival will receive important names, some of them we can announce. Mingus Big Band (6th March); Medeski, Martin and Wood (18th and 19th), and the Dave Holland Quintet are some of the bands that will come to Terrassa. Mingus Big Band, ruled and organized by Sue Mingus, is formed of 14 musicians and for sure will be one of the stars of the festival.

Medeski, Martin & Wood is one of the bands that more expectation causes nowadays to the more eager jazz lovers, due to its mixed music, made from jazz, groove, funk, soul and rock. This North American group -which will be in Catalonia for the first time, playing in the only two concerts in Spain- will publish its next record next spring, reason why we will be probably able to listen to its latest works. Finally, Dave Holland Quintet –formed by Chris Potter, Robin Eubanks, Steve Nelson and Billy Kilson- will present its recently appeared new album, ‘Extended play’, a live recording including songs from the oldest recordings of the quintet.

Jazz Terrassa-Club de Jazz d’Amics de les Arts i JJ.MM is managing these days a new edition of this international festival, that it will be soon presented in the Nova Jazz Cava, where concerts take place. This is a Club Festival, night concerts are done in the Nova Jazz Cava, an emblematic club, 350 people capacity and incredible sound that is loved by musicians.

In adition to night concerts, the Festival also offers open air perfomances.These popular concerts are free and take place during the weekends. Another popular activity will be done in the Vallparadís Parc 21st march. This day, five orchestras will play without a rest in an incomparable landscape. The festival will have some complementary activities, as series of conferences about Blues, photographics exhibitions and a jazz records fair.
